Wrestling Logos

Wrestling logos are used in professional wrestling to help distinguish between brands and associations of professional wrestling. There are many wrestling logos in the sports entertainment industry today since so many professional wrestling leagues have sprung up around the world. Even smaller independent wrestling companies establish their own wrestling logos. Wrestling logos can be simple or elaborate; they all get the same job done. Knowing the difference between wrestling logos can help you to quickly distinguish between wrestling associations.

Perhaps the most well known wrestling logo is the old WWF wrestling logo. The WWF was perhaps the most popular during the Hulk Hogan years when everyone would recognize the WWF wrestling logo. The WWF wrestling logo was gold and looked like a conjoined W and F. It was easy to tell apart from its competitors’ logos. Eventually, WWF evolved into WWE and the World Wrestling Entertainment wrestling logos were created. The WWE wrestling logo is typically seen on a black background and includes scrawled white lettering of a W underlined in red. This is another example of a logo that defines itself in its uniqueness. Another popular wrestling league in the 90s was ECW. Since the ECW was known for its extreme wrestlers and wrestling moves, the ECW wrestling logo also had an edge to it. The red ECW logo lettering was detailed with barbed wire, giving it an extreme edge. The TNA wrestling logo features elongated letters that resemble the long edges of lightning bolts, giving the logo an electrifying look. There are also a number of amateur wrestling logos out there. The Smokey Mountain wrestling logo was more elaborate than many of the professional wrestling associations. Inside the circle of the Smokey Mountain wrestling logo is a championship wrestler holding his arms up in victory. The Mid-Atlantic Championship wrestling logo is similar, featuring two grappling wrestlers inside a circle that features the league’s name. The Ohio Valley wrestling logo is very creative, featuring a muscle flexing man made up of the letters OVW for Ohio Valley Wrestling.

Wrestling logos help fans in distinguishing between wrestling associations. Wrestling logos can be simple or complex, colorful or bland, creative or minimal. There are a variety of wrestling logos out there which makes it difficult for wrestling promoters who are just starting out to come up with a unique, fresh design that will help set their company apart from the rest.
