USA Wrestling
In Ancient Greece there was perhaps no nobler or honorable feat than wrestling. You may be thinking about present day professional wrestling and wondering how that spectacle could possible fit into Ancient Greece. However, if you were to think of the USA Wrestling team you would be right on. USA Wrestling is much more technical than professional wresting. USA Wrestling is based on knowledge of body holds, locks, and moves. USA Wrestling is far less flashy and exuberant as professional wrestling. There are no costumes in USA Wrestling, just gear. There are no scantily dressed women or gimmicks in USA Wrestling either. USA Wrestling is based on wrestling for pride and victory.

The history of USA Wrestling goes back as far as the history of the USA in the Olympics themselves. Ancient Olympic wrestling was not unlike present day Olympic wrestling. While many sports have changed dramatically over the years, USA Olympic wrestling seems to cling to its traditional roots. USA Wrestling wrestlers are not flamboyant or flashy; they are proud athletes who want to compete on the most honorable stage in the world – the Olympics. Present day USA wrestlers are as much like the 1924 Olympic wrestling team and just as much like wrestlers of Ancient Olympic wrestling. While fame has not changed – famous Olympic wrestlers on Ancient times were perhaps even more well known than the USA Olympic wrestlers of today, marketing for the sport has changed. You can find everything from t-shirts to USA Olympic wresting posters nowadays. The 2007 USA Wrestling Rule Book is a great place to learn about the sport. It has the USA Wrestling logo on the front and contains all official rules to the sport as well as USE freestyle wrestling rules.
USA wrestling gear includes headgear, tights, and wrestling shoes. Some wrestlers choose to wear mouthpieces and other protective gear such as knee and elbow pads. Olympic wrestling mats are also necessary for Olympic wrestling matches to take place properly. An Olympic wrestling mat may be hard to come across but the Internet makes that task much easier. Olympic wrestling is truly a sport of honor. Unlike professional wrestling, you rarely hear of USA wrestlers killed by steroid or drug abuse. Olympic wrestlers take the health of their bodies and their training very seriously. USA wrestling is big throughout the country including subdivisions in Alaska USA wrestling, Arizona USA wrestling, Missouri USA wrestling, Illinois USA wrestling, Texas USA wrestling, Georgia USA wrestling, Iowa USA wrestling, Louisiana USA wrestling, and Montana USA wrestling.
