Wrestling Shoes
Wrestling Shoes
Wrestling shoes tend to be some of the cheapest specialized shoes in sports. Wrestling is one of the few sports where you can purchase a quality new pair of footwear for under $50. In fact, more wrestlers wear shoes under $50 than over $50 in non-professional levels of wrestling. Wrestling shoes come in all different sizes; children as young as 3 years old are placed in wrestling leagues and require special foot apparel.
Asics Wrestling Shoes
Another way they differ from shoes in other sports is how they sit on the foot. Aesthetically, they are unlike most things you have ever seen. Snug, the shoes go up past the ankle and have no hard pieces to them, except for the rubber traction on the bottom. They are very soft with long laces. Asics have long been the authority in the business of wrestling shoes; in America, they rank number one in wrestling shoe sales. It is the only sport where they sell more shoes than Nike or Addidas, two of the most powerful shoes companies in the world. On any team that does not mandate what shoe to wear, you will generally see that at least half of all wrestlers taking part in the action are wearing Asics. Wrestling shoes of the Asics variety come in all kinds of colors. Red, blue, orange, and green wrestling shoes have been spotted in stores and on mats around the country. They are a popular choice for teams that are trying to co-ordinate their school or team’s colors. Black Asics are the shoes most commonly seen.

Puma Wrestling Shoes
Puma wrestling shoes are also another very popular and respected brand in the industry. Just like Asics, they come in all different shapes, sizes, and colors. Available in most sporting stores around the globe, Pumas are a hot sell no matter what way you look at it. They are also incredibly appealing to younger wrestlers. Nike, the most popular shoe company in the world, is in the business of wrestling shoe selling, but is not recognized as a major player. Their shoes are typically way more pricy than other brands, but do not have an overwhelmingly advantageous quality about them. Many laugh at the ‘swoosh’ when they see it on a wrestler’s foot.; it is clearly not well-respected in the wrestling community. The laughs may come because having a Nike pair of shoes can be seen as flashy. Overpriced shoes are frowned upon and viewed unnecessary.
